Weapons and mods can have synergy. Additional bonuses are gained by adding mods with the same synergy, or pairing weapon synergies.
There are two types of synergy bonuses in Defiance, loadout synergies and mod synergies. Though they both apply bonuses to your weapon, each are activated in different ways. You can obtain synergy weapons and mods randomly throughout the world, or from the Defiance store. You can also buy specific synergy mod caches from faction vendors like VBI, Soleptor Enterprises, and Top-Notch Toolworks.
How do I make use of the synergy powers on my weapon?
The two types of synergy bonuses and how they are applied is explained below.
These synergies are applied with mods, they can possibly get up to bonuses. The only way to activate these synergies is to place mods of the same synergy type as the weapon in the mod slots. So if you had a ‘Spinal Tap’ weapon, you would need to place a ‘Spinal Tap’ mod in the weapon for the bonus to activate.
Mod synergy Example:
|Spinal Tap||:+11% Ammo from ammo drops|
|Spinal Tap||:-11% Reload|
|Spinal Tap||:+11% Fire rate|
|Spinal Tap||:+11% Lifesteal|
These synergies, also known as ‘Backpack Synergies’ are easily identified as they only have one bonus. The bonus is classified as a . This means that you can only get this synergy bonus if you have weapons of the same synergy in your loadout slots. So if you wanted to take advantage of the ‘Pandemonium’ synergy, you would need to have both Order, and Chaos equipped in your loadout in order for the bonus to apply.
Loadout synergy Example:
|Pandemonium|| +15% fire rate, -15% reload time, +25% nano-trigger chance|
Where do I find synergy mods?
Synergy mods can be found in random synergy mod caches that you can buy at Lockbox vendors, or from the Defiance store. You can also buy specific synergy mod caches from faction vendors like VBI, Soleptor Enterprises, and Top-Notch Toolworks.
